Well, that's for the Nintendo gamers. Unfortunately, there are many gamers that are exclusively Nintendo gamers; the 150+ million install-base proves that. That means that there are many players that have not experienced those games yet.

Try putting yourself in the shoes of Nintendo execs back in 1995... They had to make decisions based on profit. Even if it's a passion for us, for many of them it was just business, it was their job. So they made the calls they thought were best. Were they the wrong calls in my opinion? Yeah! But honestly, I don’t know how differently I would’ve acted 30 years ago.
Here’s another example of a bad decision... Kodak stuck with film cameras while digital was taking over… Terrible move, but stepping out of your comfort zone is tough for anyone.

@SageRPGs they had a buisness agreement with sony and they literally screw them there is no defending nintendo that's like saying who they betrayed sony for Panasonic who as far as I know only make batteries and other stuff nobody really buys was a good choice over sony

I’m not trying to defend Nintendo… but I also don’t wanna act all high and mighty like I follow some purist code I don’t actually live by. Put yourself in the shoes of the guy making decisions at Nintendo, if you realize the console you're building won’t turn a profit and might even cannibalize your other system, would you keep going? And it’s not like Nintendo just called up Sony and said, “Thanks for everything, but we’re out.” There were definitely penalties involved. There are no heroes and villains in this market, just companies looking out for their own interests.

Sony is the 🤴 of gaming. The Switch had to make multiple versions just to beat PlayStation 2.

@youngrydah4374 I wouldn’t say that. Nintendo just finally mastered their own formula with the Switch so they didn’t have to have a handheld system like the 3DSXL anymore when their main system was already a handheld. Tablets and iPhones are the future so Nintendo was smart enough to tap into it.
Sony was into the handheld market with their own handheld, but Nintendo made them exit the market in Japan. Sony couldn’t beat them with the PSP and PS Vita, and instead of staying in the market for their fans at least they just got out. Nintendo came out with Smash Bros which was a success. Sony tried to copy that and failed miserably with PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.
Sony has a history of being sore losers so that’s why they abandoned Japan and moved over to the western side of things. Then they started to get political and lean way heavy over to the left with titles like Last of us 1 and 2. They are coming out with all the remakes and remasters of that game that no one wants and I’ve heard Sony fans say they should demand more than just take that crap.
Other titles that were heavy left was Concord, Avaowed, Valeguard, and even past Square Enix titles that did terrible like Babylons Fall, Marvels Avengers, and some others I can’t remember the names of. Sony focuses on very realistic games but they are too expensive to make and take forever in the oven. What’s happened is they spend too much on one game and never make any of that money back that they spent.
So the question then becomes is it worth it? Not Sony is reconsidering their whole gaming structure after the Switch 2 is announced and show. Instead of making a huge and heavy heater that is PS5 and PS5 pro they are trying to do something different again following Nintendo.
Heck just recently they want to increase their system price again in countries outside the U.S. like Europe and elsewhere just because Nintendo is doing it and their prices are already ridiculous. I say all this not to crap on Sony but when I see that they are the King of gaming as you put it, I have to strongly disagree.
I’d didn’t even mention lyin’ cryin’ and dyin’ Jim Ryan who had to resign because of his many failed promises to Sony fans and his terrible leadership at Sony. They may have had their good years with PS2 but it was only because all the RPG’s and fighting games were on it. They started to come back to Nintendo when Nintendo went to CD’s instead of cartridges but now here we are at cartridges again with the Switch 2.
Street Fighter 6 looks better on S2, I don’t know if you’ve seen the picture and footage. Sony hasn’t been doing anywhere near as good as they did in the PS2 era. They have a few good games but alot of those eventually come to PC and don’t stay exclusive to the Sony system.
As someone who plays everything and pays attention to it and isn’t a Sony fanboy I can honestly say they better consider their strategy because Nintendo is coming back in a big way with Switch and Switch 2. I prefer Nintendo but I own them all, so trust me when I say Sony isn’t the King of gaming. Whatever they had it all started on Nintendo. Never forget my friend. Okay… I’ve written a lot! 😂 Anyway enjoy whatever you like just know the real history. We like what we like but let’s be fair and not be so biased. Peace man. 👍🏽

@youngrudah4374 I don’t think it had to do with Sony honestly. Nintendo already has their own records they try to beat not another’s. Nintendo is pretty good at staying in its own lane while other companies look and see what they will do so they can compete.
Nintendo made different versions of the Switch as an answer to fans and casual gamers who only wanted handheld (Switch lite) and those that wanted a more definitive Switch experience (OLED Model).
All that was is Nintendo answering the fans making a more cheaper and then a bit more expensive version of the Switch. It appealed to many different people’s taste and preferences so of course it’s gonna sell greatly.
Not only that but it’s so easy to travel with. If you travel often it’s a must have if you like to game too. Other systems can’t do this. Steam Deck can but its battery life still isn’t good and it’s not as slim and trim as the Switch. Your power goes out, you can still play the Switch.
On the go? You can play it. On the toilet? You can play it. On a plane or in a car or bus… it can be played. By kids, or adults. Everyone. So it’s no reason it beat whatever Sony records you speak of.
All that was is a byproduct of good decision making at Nintendo. They are a great company to their consumers and have been one of the highest rated in Japan. Does that answer your question?

Pertmalu, it is because the quality of Nintendo games are unmatched, and above tiers of any other gaming developer and/or publisher.

@@stripedrajang3571 if they can run gow ragnarok, last of. Us II and ff7 rebirth without degrading the texture of the game. Its still too expensive compared to console but hey i respect ur view.
