A wonderful city Melbourne. Its a shame that more of its historic buildings and coffee palaces didn't survive the demolition blitz and modernisation of the post-war period, but today its a vibrant, busy, exciting place. This ambience, however, makes me think of the city streets in the dead hours of the early morning during the late colonial era. Its still dark, just turning light, the street lamps are still on and a few horses trot by. The clouds are low and its going to be a cold Seotember day, one last day of wintry cold before the southern hemisphere spring.

More Australian soundscapes would be great!
